2017 Year of Jewelry Project - Week 1-- Self Portrait

Wow! can you believe that 2017 is already here?

My New Year's resolution is to make some time for things I want to do, as well as getting organized to be able to do that... One of the top "to do" list items is to organize myself to be able to post for the Year of Jewelry Project each week. Last year, I took a new job teaching at the College in the GED department... and was overwhelmed by all the courses I needed to take, learning the software for the program, learning the testing for the program, and learning the rules and regulations for the local, state and government. It has been a challenge...

I worked all year on jewelry, but never took time to take photos of my work, let alone try to post it all.  Soooo...... I'm baaaaaaaaak... Trying to organize myself to the point that I can take photos easier, to take the time I need to, to sit down and post... and not neglect the other blogs that I have... which I have done for the past year or ... let's be serious... more than a year or two.

Soo... here is my first piece of the year, the "Self Portrait" for Week One.

This monotone piece is anything but monotonous! It is like me... it has depth!

The ribbons on each side are made in Peyote stitch out of 11/0 triangle beads. I love the way they lay when they are made into a ribbon. They are always different even if you use one pattern for many, no two will be alike.

The rest of the necklace is made of glass, crystal, metal, and even a piece of polished lava.  The necklace is held together by an "S" hook.
